Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival & Orientation
Arrive at Hondo Hondo Forest Camp. Afternoon orientation walk along the forest edge, evening wildlife briefing with your expert guide.
Day 2 — Sanje Waterfalls & Primate Tracking
Full-day hike to Sanje Waterfalls combined with primate tracking. Overnight at lodge.
Day 3 — Mwanihana Trail (Day 1)
Begin the challenging Mwanihana Trail, ascending through vegetation zones from lowland rainforest to montane woodland. Camp at mid-altitude.
Day 4 — Summit & Descent
Summit attempt at dawn for panoramic views over the Kilombero Valley. Descend through bamboo groves with birding stops. Return to lodge.
Day 5 — Birding & Village Visit
Morning birding excursion targeting Eastern Arc endemics. Afternoon cultural visit to Mang’ula village — traditional cooking, crafts, and community conservation projects.
Day 6 — Sonjo Trail & Departure
Morning walk along the quieter Sonjo Trail for final wildlife sightings. Farewell lunch and departure.
