The Classic Udzungwa Safari is our most popular package and the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s greatest forest secret. Over three unforgettable days, you’ll hike to the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls, track endemic primates through ancient rainforest, and camp beneath a canopy of stars.
“Three days is all it takes to understand why they call this the Galapagos of Africa.”
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival & Forest Walk
Arrive at Mang’ula and check in at the park headquarters. After a briefing, enjoy an afternoon guided forest walk focusing on medicinal plants and bird identification. Evening campfire dinner under the stars.
Day 2 — Sanje Waterfalls
The highlight of the trip. Hike through montane rainforest to the 170-metre Sanje Waterfalls. Your guide will point out primate troops overhead — including the endemic Iringa red colobus. Swim in the plunge pool before descending.
Day 3 — Primate Tracking & Departure
Early morning primate tracking excursion targeting the critically endangered Sanje mangabey. After a farewell lunch, transfer back to your next destination.
